Reagent kit is intended for detection of surface antigen of hepatitis B virus (HBs-antigen) ad and ay subtypes in donor blood serum and plasma and to differential diagnostics of viral hepatitis with one-step immunoferment "sandwich"-method. In "Hepascan HBsAg" reagent kit murine monoclonal antibodies to various binding sites are used, some of which are adsorbed on solid phase, and others are conjugated with horseradish peroxidase.

"Hepascan HBsAg - confirmation test" reagent kit is destined for confirmation of HBs-antigen presence in human blood serum/plasma. The test is based on the ability of specific antibodies to neutralize HBsAg in the samples. The samples, detected as positive by "Hepascan HBsAg" reagent kit, should be tested by "Hepascan HBsAg - confirmation test" reagent kit to confirm the specificity of the test.
While carrying the test with "Hepascan HBsAg - confirmation test" serum or plasma samples are incubated with neutralizing antibodies. If the sample contains HBsAg, it binds with the neutralizing antibodies in the solution, and its binding with the immobilized in the wells antibodies is blocked. The result is singal suppression in comparison with the initial sample. Each sample is analyzed simultaniously in two plate wells: with the neutralizing antibodies and without.
